Touching Noses

Thursday, 24 June 2010 11:52 by sabrina

Quote of the Day:

It’s 1:30pm and the kids have been sleeping for almost an hour.

Crying interrupts a lunch date with ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’

Annoyed mom goes to investigate.

Annoyed mom finds 3 year old girl sitting on the potty and her younger brother crying from his crib.

Conversation was as follows:

Me: Alyssa, good job waking up to use the potty, but why is Evan crying?

Alyssa: I touched him on the nose

Me: But he was sleeping, why did you touch him on the nose?!

Alyssa: I touch him on the nose everyday

(…and we’ll just end the conversation there so I don’t embarrass myself with my annoyed reply)

Evan has decided that he’s ready to join the conversation world and use sentences like a big boy.  He’s talked for a long time now, but it’s just been in the last 2 weeks he’s begun to talk in longer sentences full time.  He started out last Saturday morning by saying:

“Daddy, I want more eggs!” Although sounded more like

Daddy, uh wan more egks!

We thought all this sentence talk was pretty cute…until last night.

Alyssa came running to us complaining about something or other and as usual we sort of just ignored her at first, (she tends to complain a lot about little things) UNTIL we notice Evan tailing her shouting:

“I kicked Alyssa!” Although sounded more like

Uh kikt uhlissa!

Just to clarify I asked him: You kicked Alyssa?

Evan: Yeah! (with a huge smile on his face)

Luke and I had a really really hard time not laughing.  So I guess that means he can pretty much say whatever he wants from now on…which should be rather entertaining for Luke and I for a while.

Sleeping or Not

Monday, 7 June 2010 03:34 by sabrina

Sunday’s are always tricky with naps because the kids sometimes fall asleep in the car on the way home from church and get about 15min of sleep. Then when we get home they are too awake to fall back asleep.

Today Luke brought Alyssa in from the car and laid her down in the guest room bed (where she takes naps sometimes), a few minutes later we heard her walking around upstairs so he said he was going to go put her back in bed.

An hour later Luke comes back downstairs with “just woke up face” and says

Luke: She’s still not asleep

Me: What is she doing?

Luke: I donno, I laid down with her and next thing I know I look over and she has different clothes on, she’s lining up cheerios on my arm and is kissing my head.

Then he lays down on our bed and falls asleep.

O….k….a…y?! lol
