First of all, if you have never heard of postsecret.com let me give you a little history. Postsecret.com is a website started by this guy who first went around a his town posting signs for people to send him their secrets. He got an overwhelming response and published a book. Then decided to start posting the postcards on this website. Because they are secrets, if you post a picture usually the face is distorted in some manner in order to keep the secret. Okay so that now with that brief history, read on.
I was browsing postsecret the other day and saw this postcard. I was thinking how sad that was when I remembered my little secret.
With pregnancy comes "the belly." Before I was 4 months pregnant I had never in my entire life had any type of belly. And so when you're pregnant "the belly" is cute because there is a baby in there. BUT after you have the baby "the belly" is just a belly which means it's not cute anymore...not even the slightest bit cute.
In general I think a lot of pregnant women look at post pregnant women's bellies to "monitor." The criteria in monitoring is to ask how old their baby is and observe how little the mommy's belly is. Obviously the younger the baby and the smaller "the belly" the more points you get. It's kinda like a game I played and I'm sure other prego ladies do it too. Well I wanted to be one of those mommies with a lot of points. I would always hope that I would be back to normal as quick as possible, but you just don't know how your belly (and body in general) will bounce back.
People have graciously commented on how well I bounced back, but regardless of their kind comments I know I still have "the belly." Maybe it depends on what I'm wearing....or does it. lol Hence my secret!
